No, I don't think it's been added yet. Any news? I'd like to be able to connect up my iDrive at least.

As for placing the contacts on BMW ConnectedDrive Online, how does that work please? All I can seem to do is send single messages to iDrive from the BMW website.

I am desperately awaiting this feature as well. I really miss being able to use voice commands or iDrive selection to call my contacts. Now, I have to fumble with the phone and it's very dangerous/frustrating.

1) Go to https://www.bmw-assist-login.com and login.
2) In the menu on the left click on "Office"
3) A submenu appears, click "Import adresses"
4) Now you can either upload your adressbook from Outlook or from a vCard-File

Still just a workaround for the missing PBAB support, but I hope that helps...

Anyone care to speculate on whether this will ever be fixed? I just bought an N900 and love it. Unfortunately, one of my requirements for a Bluetooth enabled phone is to work seamlessly with my car. While I can make calls via manually entering the number via iDrive, having the ability to access my address book is critical. I'm seriously considering returning the N900 even though it's otherwise perfect for my needs.

Thanks,
Mike

edit: just found this thread which suggests pbab support is coming.

if you read the thread you will see it is actually here already ;-)
Just follow the instructions in the wiki
There won´t be an official fix from Nokia...

The problem is that the BMW iDrive before 2007 doesn't seem to support PBAP, which is what the mentioned community fix resolves.

I agree with you, mdreed, that this missing feature really makes me question this phone purchase as well.
