Mike's got bigger visions in sight and he advised us he won't be returning to write this blog.
Actually I predict he won't be able to go cold turkey, and we'll see sporadic contributions from him. (This is a safe prediction, because he made it first.)
He'll give us another full report of the 770 in the near future. Hey, Fondling the Nokia 770 Internet Tablet is what clued in most people to the potential of this device!
That and his incredible posts in this ersatz blog and its predecessor location.

Actually, this post is really about why his TabletPC didn't cut it. And there's a lesson here. BTW, his tablet weighed 5 pounds. No wonder it didn't fit in his lifestyle. Or anyone's.

Oh, right, I just linked to this page in the previous post (smack on the side of the head)! Well, it's big enough news, being the first external event we can tie to the release.
Reggie writes that he's been trying to pin down whether the unit in the US would have 802.11g as well as 802.11b, because for the longest time the nokiausa.com didn't say that (the nokia.com site did). When he saw yesterday that the information had changed, he thought to check the FCC data and bingo! he discovered the news.
Websites with interest in this sort of thing and presumably mainstream media are being sent review copies, so you should see lots of articles about this soon.

Matt Croydon was an early poster on this news, with links to specific documents part of the FCC submission, such as the user manual.
Of course, Planet Maemo had picked it up, and Nokia 770 blog chimed in, with some follow-up this morning about review copies being sent out. And Teleread ran a blurb about it, with a graphic taken from the user manual. (Hey! I wrote it. I know where it came from.)
