here is an idea, why not use filebox and have a setting somewhere that would allow to change the default application to be opened (stock file manager or filefox if it is installed) when a usb drive...

i found the following issue

the phone starts getting hot near the USB port side, and the battery starts to drain really fast when monitor mode is started
i have tested this with injection drivers...

I measured with a voltmeter the output voltage from the USB port and in "host mode with charging" my n900 is for sure supplying 5 volts.

you are saying it does not supply voltage in that mode,...

it dose not work with KP50 you need KP51
the following kernel features are needed (kernel-feature-usbhost-new,kernel-feature-battery and kernel-feature-charger) and they are not available in KP50 ...

i looked quickly at the src and one thing i noticed was the usbmode.sh in the package is not the same as the one downloaded from http://atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/~pali/usbmode.sh

The fuse is a normal fuse consisting of a thin wire across a ceramic core , the wire thickness as i saw under a microscope is very thin it can never be 2A fuse, i saw its says 2.0A in the schematic...

you don't have to format your PC if you have Windows XP installed,
Try to stay away from Windows 7 64Bit as it have some issues with the Flasher driver, if everything fails then download a Ubuntu...
