Even if you allow the GPU to run at say 400MHz, there would only be slight performance difference. We're BANDWIDTH limited here.

600MHz itself is not recommended by TI. Its not a matter of Nokia being too conservative or not. It's purely manufacturer (of the SoC) stated specs.

Pretty sure Android has even worse battery life. My friend's HTC Legend has similar battery capacity (1300mAh, N900 1320mAh), mine lasts a whole day but his dies one third into the day with the same...

The 3.5mm output in the N900 has excellent (loaded, i.e., headphone attached) frequency response (near flat except for some slight midbass hump of about 1db), and one of the best stereo separation...
