Hi all!

I want upgrade my N900, and see two ways:

1) buy used Nokia N950. Budget... aproximility, $700 (may be more, if phone is new).

2) buy used dirkvl-maked qwerty keyboard half + new JollaPhone.

Budget to half, aprroximility $250

I understand, it is a bad price to way number one, but I have budget limits, and Jolla Phone with HW keyboard is better choice than N950, and $250+$400=$650 - less of N950.

You wouldn't do yourself a favor with the N950. It's such a bad piece of hardware that Nokia didn't even dare to sell it. And it's totally overpriced on the markets, just because of being rare.

Your third (and maybe the only real) alternative for replacing N900 is Neo900

Thank you very much for answers,

Neo900 is very slooooow phone. I don't undrestand resons to change N900 to Neo900.
It will be never use 2-cores CPU, like Jolla Phone.
Hardware Hacking (USB host and another features of Neo900) not for me, I intresting software hacking.
I want open platform with open source and modificating code, totaling bash/python scripting, like my N900, and hardware keyboard to save time in subway (writing big e-mails, posting on forums, some of coding)

and, Debian or Ubuntu works in N900 slower than Maemo.
I think, really comfort of use Neo900 with Debian is very low.

I think, Ubuntu Mobile can be good choice, but it is'nt ported to Android keyboard smartphones

May be, Gentoo will be work fine on Neo900, but it is need more time to install and optimize software(more dificult than x86, I use gentoo in laptop). It will be intresting, but not sure I am have at this time.

Absolutely true.
@shaggy_cat: How do you think/know that Neo900 will be slow phone?

Also that is true.
Despite those arguments I would not give mine away for 1000$/€/£ !

It use 1 core old CPU, 512Mb RAM (may be!!! 1Gb). Is another reasons to change from N900 to Neo900?

I don't use IR, USB host, but want buy Pebble smart watch: is solutions to Jolla and N950, no solutions to Neo900.

My phone work fine with overclocking CPU to 800Mhz(1Ghz of Neo900 not large difference), but it is have less RAM, and some time freezing becouse iowait (D state).

And, Neo900 is include not optimization software....

Ubuntu and Debian, recompile to Armel, work on my N900 veryyyy slooooow (but some times I use it, becouse need OpenOffice or Gimp).

FYI, Jolla device has 2 cores but it currently only uses just one core, and does very well with that one, thank you

Who told you that? I think, it's plain wrong, as you can easily see with "top" on the device.
