I am trying to arrange a custom profilematic action to restart the Podcatcher app when I connect to my WLAN and have two questions:
1. Is there a general command (say D-BUS) that I can run on the command line to "gently" quit an app? That is, something simple to use apart from kill and killall?
2. Is it possible to launch a GUI app in the background so that it does not become the active window?
