Remember: eMMC (Vanilla) first, then rootfs (FIASCO), without rebooting in between.

Don't worry about the PC Suite. Go through the Wiki and post back with where you get stuck. If using windows, use XP not 7.

First try to flash with RX-51_xxxxx_ARM.bin

and then flash the RX-51_2009SE_1.2009.41-1.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin

and again flash with
RX-51_xxxxx_ARM.bin

This will make ur N900 new and error free... I usually got error while flashing EMMC , so tht i am doing this.. and so far i got success in this

Not sure how it works in windows but I'm sure its not a good idea to install drivers for flashing mode. If you install drivers whilst flasher is doing its job or prior to flasher doing its job, you end up interfering with the entire operation of flashing.

My best bet is to disable the N900 PC-Suite drivers from even interfering in the first place, surely under control panel > System > device manager > hardware drivers (or something like that) can give you access to temporarily disabling the drivers.

Also when you see that the flasher says `Booting device into flash mode', did you device restart?

My best bet would be to temporarily boot into linux (on your desktop/pc) and use linux flasher from there.

The device should be off when you plug it in (as per instructions) and so long as the Nokia cable drivers are installed, there's no problem and PC Suite won't try to initiate.

Things to look at:

1. I think there might be a problem with your directories (in windows). Try placing everything in the top directory of a drive (e.g. c:\) so the strings you need to enter are really short - I believe it needs full file paths.

2. Make sure you're using the most recent versions of the firmware (PR1.3 and similarly dated eMMC image).

flashed my phone successfully using my cousins pc which is running on windows xp Service Pack 3. i think main problem is flasher needs service pack 3 to flash device correctly. Thanks everyone for helping me and taking time to solve my problem.

check your firmware version which you have downloaded. mine are RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.13-2.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin and RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2.003_PR_COMBINED_003_ARM.bin. kernel version is for middle east. check ur files and download again and download the latest ones.
