The little C shaped black metal part that sits where the O is on the attached pic has come off of my N900 battery cover. What is it? I checked the Lv 1-2 and 3-4 Service manuals but it's inconclusive. For the moment i refixed it with a tiny piece of tesa tape. I dont notice any problems with the device. All antennas work, mmc is detected, camera works. Please advise. Thanks.

looks like it belongs to the kickstand.

Mine has come off too and its to help the kickstand snap to open position. There is another piece on the other hinge on the kickstand with the same purpose.

Yeah, it's a possibility. Esp since i use the kickstand all the time. It might be some spring or so. I hope someone knows for sure.

Kick stand hinge. Stop the kick stand from falling back onto the cover.
