Yesterday I set up alarm at 7:15, but before going to sleep I managed to screw up my power kernel so my phone stopped booting, but because I was too tired I went to sleep instead of fixing it.

Strangest thing happened on the morning, my phone booted up automatically in spite of malfunctioning kernel and started ringing

Maybe it went to the default kernel, like when you press 0 at the boot menu

I think the alarmclock runs on a separated circuit which the main system talks to for changing settings.
