can you connect to it with VNC? (perhaps you may need to launch the VNC server via SSH)

If you can, then try installing HealthCheck , then once you have it installed, run it, go to the Tools tab and click on the Accuracy test button, once it's running try draging your finger all over the screen and via VNC see if the crosshair is in the correct position.

I dunno if you can replace the screen without replacing the digitizer at the same time though

Depending on how much the new lcd would cost, you would be better off getting a brand new unit.

http://www.nokiausa.com is having its 199-after-rebate sale again =).

Hope you can take advantage of it!

isn't that rebate thing a trap, where you pay the full price and only if you're very lucky you eventually get most of your money back?

Iwanna know how i can save ''hardly''a all my data

1- I have password(terminal is locked by default on boot initiation)
2- my server ssh is allready there
3- i have x11vnc server instalet and vnc pack on desktop home too

so how to hardly save data

and how test you famous trick by the vnc you mention before....but considering my passwort in boot and my wifi not unable by defalut (but my internet connexion and password is saved in my tablet allready)

tx to save my data and see if its just lcd or lcd/digitiser is broken

tx to all trick

Plug your N900 into your TV using the supplied TV-OUT cable.

test touching the screen using different places
if it responds in all expected places == probably mostly ok
if it doesn't well then..

that is a really unfortunate accident!
I always dislike the beach wit hN900 for a different reason:
sand in the slider
it sounds awful

TX to your tips too

after install HealtCheck and make accuracy test versus dead pixel test... the result be clear :

-all pixel test be floued cause screen turn on and off when i press and tap...and the luminosity and on/off be very instable (see picture over here)

but whith the accuracy testing....i particularly test all pixels...but more attention where is the ''cracks'' on lcd (bottom left (landscape)

all left bottom corner where is the impact center be very responcdive like before accident...all look like very well for digitiser...

so i just need buying new lcd...that my final answer? Yes it is!

1 part instead 2 parts is always good after the best diagnostic TX Guys

and cause i save 1 parts in this sad surprise, i check for good Hard case and ligth stylus...any links? lol
