Hello, I wonder if it's possible to prevent 'Open in new window' option from switching directly to new window. I would like that one can open new page in backgrond instead, and later switch to new window.

Something like mozilla's 'open in new tab'...

thanks!

I'd like that as well. Sometimes I like to open a whole lot of new browser windows, but the previous one I opened keeps stealing focus when I'm trying to type in the URL / click the bookmark for the next window.

I was actually browsing through about:config but I couldn't find anything obvious.

Been there done that.

Someone reported it as a bug.

Record numbers voted.

Nokia did nothing.

The end.

I found some Firefox settings that would do the job, but they don't exist (or have different names) in MicroB.

browser. tabs. loadBookmarksInBackground = true

browser. tabs. loadDivertedInBackground = true

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_:_FAQs_:_About:config_Entries

I tried adding those entries manually, it didn't work.

Woops, maybe I spoke too soon (or too late). It could be coming in PR 1.3. See comment #44 below for hope.

Comment #44 from Andre Klapper (maemo.org) 2010-03-02 18:23:38 GMT+3 [reply]

(Fixed in the internal UI Specification, code implementation nearly done.)

If it comes to trust rumors about pr1.3 or pe or whatever release in week #34 I hope this would be included. What's the point of multitasking browser if I HAVE TO multitask every time I want to open the link.

Also, as I look down the bug track I see this is rather old? I'm feel just fine about starting this thread, maybe someone notices this at last...
