Hey guys,

Gizmo is not taking any new registrations. So, I am now looking for another easy tablet-to-pc alternative for video calls. Preferably, it should be as easy registering twice (once for each account), and then using the same software on PC as on the tablet.

Any suggestions? (Does this even exist?)

Thank you in advance!
Hijinio

That would be Skype no?

I'd wait to see what Google is going to do. Although I don't think they'll be updating their app for Maemo/ Meego but you can buy a gizmo account on ebay:

Dunno bout the reputability of the seller but I've bought accounts off ebay for Google Voice waaay back when they only had referral invites a year ago.

Isn't Gizmo5 just a free SIP provider?

Unfortunately, Skype does not do video on OS2008. Interesting idea about buying an account.

Maybe someone can school me SIP?

I just want to have a way to 1) set up a webcam at home and 2) use my N810 to do video calls with my wife. I have an international trip coming up in January, but we also have a baby due in December... I want to be able to see our baby and wife from overseas.

Any ideas? If the ideal isn't available, I'm open to other alternatives.

Thank you!

Unless I'm missing something, I think Ekiga on Maemo is voice only. Bummer.

You should get video on Maemo5 PR1.2, I don't know about older versions...
