I just have one question about the new nokia n900 RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.19-1.002_PR_COMBINED_002_ARM.bin pr 1.2
are there any power saving upgrades or will we
suffer with faster battery drainage due to
new added features???

Between the new pr 1.2 and the leaked one.
http://wiki.maemo.org/Maemo_5/PR1.2

Install 3D earth what using OpenGL 2.0 for example now i can and its working.
Pr 1.2 is out i am not so impressed.

Where is flash 10.1 and the support play more codec for videos,

Meego os will be better more feature hopefully it will be the next update and support for commercially used.

Maemo5 is soon outdated why we are waiting for nothing its taking too long for something to come out not more games and apps, if there is 5 to 10 game from time till now just coming out from the time waste of time, for a powerful machine like the n900 there isnt any car game how sad is that.

Bounce is not finish nokia give us demo,
nokia could even give us a full version game prefer car, that will show game graphic wise or when will we get the full version bounce game then

dont get why ppl are *****ing about this........

so, nothing else gets outdated and superseded?
basically EVERY consumer product does, so why are ppl moaning that the n900 will not be the latest greatest thing forever?

you bought the "cutting edge" phone, you made the choice to buy something that was unproven and would obviously be slow in getting a massive software catalog.........

and battery life "seems" better in update......

6 months for a mobile OS to die. Thats a record thats why.

>>you bought the "cutting edge" phone, you made the choice to buy something that was unproven

Because ppl are too trusting. Nobody in the right mind will release a flagship product and support it LESS then their lower tiered cheaper products right ? (Ovi maps anyone?).

But obviously Nokia did.

Another point of anger - even NOW the n900 is advertised as having "flash" (you are read Ari's blog on his claim to FULL FLASH for n900 yesterday) and a full web experience, but we know now that this is 100% BS cause flash 10.1 is not coming to n900 (even though the damn flash 10 prototype ran on the n900). So the n900 has for all intents and purposes NO flash, because sites are now starting to block browsers with no flash 10.

Customers feel screwed. Maybe you enjoy getting screwed but not everyone does.

Wow you can't be any more wrong about this...

First of all, Maemo 5 Support ISN'T DEAD.. Just because PR 1.2 didn't satisfy you, that doesn't mean it's dead... There's even PR1.3 going to come.. So how is it dead?

The N900 was NEVER a flagship phone... At the time of it's release and so far, the N97 IS is Nokia's Flagship Phone.. and Symbian is the high-end OS so far.. Yes, the change will take effect soon (MeeGo will become the high-end OS and Symbian will be the Mid-end OS)..

You do understand that in order for Flash 10.1 to come out on N900, it needs to be first released by Adobe.. and so far, Adobe has only ONE beta out, which is for Android.. and it's not even GPU accelerated.. so why are you guys still mad??

Its a dead end OS in terms of future investment for Nokia - why do you think no ovi maps, no flash, no official Meego (why not? they already will do a dev versions FFS. Why not go the extra step instead of relying on the community ?) and so on ?

My comment isnt about PR1.2. Its the support it gets relative to other phones.

>> The N900 was NEVER a flagship phone...

Fair enough, but it was a high end product none the less, bursting with high end features. The support that came with it was no where near that.

And the N97 wasnt exactly stellar either... for a flagship phone.

You need to wander over to the flash forum for flash 10.1 to see the thread about Maemo 5. The adobe representative stated its in Nokia's hands to release information and they had no comment otherwise.

Again, many ppl have asked Nokia about flash, and we get no answer. Just like there was no answer about Meego or Ovi for a long time. Wonder what the outcome will be ?

Quol also indicated that he had a chat with a "Top Maemo" guy and that flash 10.1 aint coming (search for the post). Rumor it may be, but given Nokia's behaviour I have my money down that he is right.
