Hi,

I havn't heard anything about it so I guess there is not a great demand for it, but I think it can be superb.

A simple sequencer and midi editor, like a very tiny super-simple version of Cubase, Logic, Abelton live or Protools.

I've managed to run FastTracker 2 on the dosbox but the mouse calibration is too bad and it's not phisible to work with.
I havn't even checked if there's a sound coming out... a screenshot attached.

I guess that a score editor is doable, only question left is about the MIDI capabilities of the N900 and does it have any?

If not, can this be imitated by software?

No musicians here?

I've found this old thread:

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=10451

But most of it is not relevant for the N900, and it says nothing about MIDI.

I'd be very interested in this.
I use Finale on my pc, but if I could be able to get ideas down properly on long journeys, out and about, it would be wonderful.

Maybe a port of an existing linux program?

I once compiled NtEd http://vsr.informatik.tu-chemnitz.de...ted/nted.xhtml for the N810. It was run able, but not much useable. You have to redesign the UI a lot. Also timidity wasn't running... I now have a working timidity, and it's still possible to compile NtEd with only a few small changes for N900. Anyone here who is interested in this?

Edit: I'm also interested in MIDI. You'll have more luck with N810, because it support USB host mode. N900 doesn't, AFAIK. Bluetooth could be a solution, but I didn't found any working adapters. Read this: http://xmidi.com/bluetooth.html.

I would also be very happy to help you with the code as much as I can, although small experience with maemo but a lot of experience with coding.
