For those of you who know:

Are there any N900's product codes targeted to Mexico specifically or, in general to Latinamerican countries ?

Not as presence.
"The Nokia N900 will initially be available in Europe, Middle-East, Russia and North America." They did not mention South America, I'm sure there are plans for it, I strongly felt there is a lack of demand in this region and Asia probably due to the price-tag.

Did anyone notice the "Swap" product codes? Are these unit that had some bad karma that needed a hw / sw fix? I hope I don't get a Swap US unit!

Please excuse my ignorance but how easy is it to change the product code?

With the N95, one needed special software.

You should know that changing the product code will void your free 2 years warranty (if you're in the EU, 1 year elsewhere).
When the device is connected through NSU, it logs this change.
When any service engineers enter your IMEI they can see this clearly as it'll flagged the change on the system.

you want us to ignore your ignorance?

that's dangerous, what if we are ignorant as well. You would be asking ignorant people to ignore your ignorance. What if this goes on to eternity? What would the world be like.. i have nightmares..

forgive me for my ignorance please. its late.

but i think i have to ignore your question, since i do not know the answer. For i'm ignorant myself. On this subject, not as a person. as far as i know. but what do i know.

I'm concerned about running a USA coded product in Australia and would naturally prefer a UK code.
I'll have to give this some thought.
Also I think that as the phone is not supposed to be coming to Australia for at least 6 months, there will probably be no service here at all!!
