I have the same problem with the spanish keyboard (gotta love the ñ) and would like to have a catalan variant (with an accesible ŀ ). Seems that it's time to get involved and try to scratch this itch. 
I own a french N810 (with the azerty keyboard), and i wanna switch from the qwerty keyboard (not the on-board keyboard, the real keyboard...) to the N810 keyboard.
How can I proceed???
BTW, Thank for the help and for every Mer developers!!!
