Hi. When I check for installable applications, I get a list of several that I am not interested in. For instance, I have Pidgeon installed and therefore, am not intersted in anything involving GAIM. Is there some way to cause these to not be shown in the list?

Unfortunately, there is no way for the application installer to know what you are interested in. However, they are organised into categories.
