After some messing around with the source some more.
I finally got xgngeo ready for a first release.
This post is intended to be a be a small how-to
for those who I know will have issues getting xgngeo running.

I will cover 2 methods of installation.
1. install via terminal
2. install via Application Manager

Installing via terminal

1. download .deb from the garage.
>>>>>>>>>>> XGngeo <<<<<<<<<<<
Remember the location that you download the deb file to.
/home/user/MyDocs is fine

2. Start up the terminal.
cd into the directory you downloaded the
xgngeo_16-1_armel.deb package to.
If you followed step 1, then you should run the command
>> cd /home/user/MyDocs <<

3. Run >> sudo gainroot << to gain superuser status.

4. Run >> dpkg -i xgngeo_16-1_armel.deb <<
and just wait for installation to complete.

5. After installation is complete you need to run 3 commands in the terminal.
a. >> cd .. <<
b. >> chown user:users .xgngeo
c. >> chown user:users .xgngeo/xgngeo.conf
If you don't run these commands, then saving your choices in xgngeo will not be saved. As soon as I fix this I will make another release.

6. run xgngeo and enjoy.

Installing via Application Manager

1. download .deb from the garage.
>>>>>>>>>>> XGngeo <<<<<<<<<<<
Remember the location that you download the deb file to.
/home/user/MyDocs is fine

2. open File Manager and locate xgngeo_16-1_armel.deb

3. double tap on xgngeo_16-1_armel.deb
Application Manager should start up.

4. Install xgngeo.

5. I'm not sure these commands need to be entered for the application manager install but do so anyways, it won't kill you to do so.
Open the terminal
a. >> cd .. <<
b. >> chown user:users .xgngeo
c. >> chown user:users .xgngeo/xgngeo.conf

6. run xgngeo

Thanks, my little contribution to the community.
hopefully I can get it to where all the steps required to get it running are not needed.
chown such and such.
but till then enjoy.

Can't wait for the onscreen buttons to get fixed.

The video shows this clearly.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...44773668&hl=en
watch the video.

skip the chown steps of the video.

But if you follow the video tutorial,
You should have it up and running with no problems.
