I did some searching but I couldn't find a clear answer.

Let's say I have an N810. If I wanted to power and charge the device in my car, do I need to buy a Nokia cell phone charge with a micro USB connector? Or is there some special car charger made specifically for the N810?

the n810 doesn't charge over USB. Any standard DC4 charger will work, nokia or 3rd party.

Yes, it will. It will work with any IT--770, 800, 810.

There is a car charger (directly connects to car adapter and N810) from Nokia itself.

I actually bought that from the Nokia flagship store.

Went to Radioshack and got the Igo tip for their car charger. Anyone who has one I would recommend going that route.

Hi guys, thanks for all the info. Andyschism - what is the "Igo tip" ? Is it some kind of adapter or just the name of a radio shack brand charger?

The Igo is what I would call a modular charger of sorts. They sell AC chargers and Car chargers that have a universal plug. You then buy "tips" which fit what you are trying to charge and then just plug that on, so instead of carrying all these different chargers you can carry one with different tips. Thats all.
