VIM is usually about 75 -100 KB. That helped you go from 12.9 MB to maybe 13MB????

hi community's friends
freeing-up/optimizing my rootfs I tried to purge all languages I don't use (files as-config-applet-l10n-*).
suppose I want remove, e.g., deutch language, question is:

because it's information about your phone, your firmware etc.
so if will be PR1.4, you wouldn't upgrade your phone without flash..
and some applications need mp-fremantle-generic-pr..
for example, if you uninstall this, you will have in Settings..About...in firmware version etc. write UNKNOWN..

maybe what about move all languages packs to MyDocs and make symlinks?

Really? onestly I purged it from my n900 but I can see all information in settings->about!

maybe what about move all languages packs to MyDocs and make symlinks?
what happens if I delete its instead?

Hi i used the "moveroot.sh" script by Thomas Tanner to free up some space in " / " and the commands in the FAQ i also played around and searched then moved some files (Ringing msg email......tunes and some icoms ) this is what i exactly moved it freed more than 10 MB just you will need a basic knowledge and some time

im not responsable about any damage do it at your own risk

well for me nothing happend !!

just make the directories (mkdir) then move (mv) then link (ln -s).
I suggest using Filbox to move multiple files then remove them then link them

/usr/include /home/usr/
/usr/share/google-search-widget /home/usr/share/
/usr/share/bookmark-manager /home/usr/share/
/usr/share/calendar /home/usr/share/
/usr/share/rtcom-messaging-ui /home/usr/share/rtcom-messaging-ui/
/usr/share/sounds/(unlinked files) /home/usr/share/sounds/
/usr/share/zenmap/pixmap/ /home/usr/share/zenmap/pixmap

example :
root
mkdir /home/usr/share/
mv /usr/share/google-search-wiget /home/usr/share/
ln -s /home/usr/share/google-search-wiget /usr/share/
