The hardware is slightly frankensteined, so i wouldn't expect to get both good performance and good battery life.

Ha ha! Very good!
Oddly enough, you know you could actually simultaneously play 2 you tube videos with the "ice cream" verson of Android. Google removed that capability after that. Not sure why but I had wondered if the reason was that it would help prevent pirating of videos.

Well... After USA banned Huawei from using android for political reasons, and don't trust any American company anymore because of government and sanctions

According to this post, the answer is yes: https://forums.puri.sm/t/battery-for-librem-5/6643. Now if you could also charge the battery in an external charger rather than in the phone, that would be perfect!

It is the only place on the internet
where we can hold reasonably technical discussions
about pocketable devices
which are neither Android, nor Microsoft, nor Apple.

[ Liliputing is not for discussion as much as it is for advertising.]

With almost no exceptions

Cheers from the bleachers.

My reply to mscion's was a wee bit too terse. [Sorry for that.] I considered editing it, but opted not to.
Well, your reply simply reflects my - unuttered - thoughts. Thanks!

But it also does make me think: what (other) sites do TMO-ers nevertheless frequent when it comes to reading up on anything akin to what's tackled over here? Both up and down the tech ladder.

It's a bit thick looking but seems to run more smoothly than expected.

It looks like the thickness of the n900 but with a large screen and no key board of course

will be interested in seeing if others can check this eventually, iOS vs Android vs Librem 5 -- Which one leaks more data?
