Hi everyone. My N9 software is slowly dying on me (eg. no more working Twitter client) and it's depressing me. So I decided to try and install Sailfish OS on it.

I'm using our official manual, but I'm hitting a few bumps, mainly one big one :

1-I can't seem to enable developer mode anymore. This is a problem in order to copy ubiboot files to /. Because I suppose the Alt_OS partition that is mounted now is NOT the root partition, right?

Here are my questions:

1-As of today (11 aug 2015) is there a way to enable developer mode under Harmattan?
2-If I cannot enable dev mode, can I at least download a terminal and gain root access?
3-If all of the above fails, how can I copy ubiboot files to /?

Thank you very much for your help.

I guess you will not be satisfied with sfos on n9, as it is more a proof-of-work as a real working OS.
Stay with MeeGo! (there was no need for a reflash)
But if you "need" up-to-date social apps it may not be the best choice anymore. (unless you develop yourself and fix API changes)

SailfishOS for N9 is dead before even being born. It's stuck to a more than one year version.

And even on SFOS, there is no real satisfying apps for FB and Tweeter (didn't test the last Tweetian tough). I just use the browser and it works pretty well.

Wom Man, thanks for your reply, and sorry for not knowing this before. Now if I may bother you one last time, how in heaven can I add a repo in my sources without any terminal, let alone root access? Everyone one the thread says "just install this and that" but is there a way to install anything in a fresh N9 apart from the long dead nokia store?

Oh, and thank you again, just knowing this repo exists made my day.

@peterleinchen: what we need is another banner below the "keep on the lights" banner pointing to a nice wiki page

As linked by @peterleinchen, just download the debs from OpenRepo, put them on your N9 (you must have allowed "non trusty sources" in settings), and install them.
