Is it possible to tune the brightness/light sensor range?

I feel comfortable in almost dark and dark conditions with a brightness of 2out of5 while in bright light I'd rather have it to 5/5.

Is it possible to modify the light sensor auto-adjust ranges via a file?
What I want to do is to allow the screen to go dimmer, on the max brightness setting, than it currently does.
