Yes, in that case you can build libhybris using HADK and install SFOS on the device.
Pretty straightforward, can be done with basic linux knowledge.

True, altough I have not used that method. Is it very different from procedure using CM?

I believe it's quite similar but possibly more work.

Do you mean Fairphone 2, or are there others not based on CM?

I'd love to know what the main differences are, I think Fairphone's open source OS is pretty much just skinned AOSP and doesn't change the system level parts, but I don't know for sure.

In terms of community ports, Fairphone 2 seems to be the only openly available port.

Jolla C/ Intex Aqua Fish are also based of AOSP 5 I believe.

I might be wrong but I think sledges was the one who got libhybris based on AOSP5 working, which I believe he used the Nexus 5 for testing at least at first, but no full on re-base and very little on that working I think. I might be completely wrong though.

And if all devices (sensors, LED, NFC, etc.) work under CM, then we can be pretty sure they'll work under Sailfish w/ libhybris?

I wouldn't (and didn't!).

What I should have said is I'd get a OP3 if FP2 didn't exist. FP2 is thicker and not so attractive but repairability is way more important for me.

From the HADK:
An ARMv7 Android device officially supported by CyanogenMod 10.1.x, 11.0, or 12.1 (at the
time of writing 2015-09-11). Also check this link
Has anyone tried porting with CM 13.0? There is a branch hybris-13.0 in the repo: https://github.com/mer-hybris/android/branches

If not, is it easy to make a CM 12.1 ROM if 13.0 is available?

If you care about environment go fairphone II. It also seems to be most open android phone. And also sailfishos unofficial (without davik :/

And hopefully the more FP2 users coming from SFOS it means Jolla and Fairhpone listen and make official SFOS on fairphone with dalvik.
