(Fixed in the internal UI Specification, code implementation nearly done.)
currently there is no option to open a link in a new window in the background. So you always have to switch back to the old window via the task manager. I guess it would be easy to add a corresponding entry to the context menu (E.g. "open in new window in background").
Brainstorm or Bugzilla?
