Sorry to repost a bit here but has anyone managed to get the MicroB spell checker to work? And if so how did you do it?

I can't even get MicroB to acknowledge that I have installed the extension.

As always thanks in advance

Please provide exact steps. For most people it works.

Thanks for taking the time Andre, I have:

1. removed Adblock (I hear that sometimes this interferes)
2. Installed MicroB Spell check via the Application manager.
3. Opened MicroB and closed it and then reopened it (like Greasemonkey)
4. Looked in Tools - Components and it is not there
5. Installed the UK dictionary
6. Looked in Tools - Components and it is not there
7. Checked installed applications and they are both there.

Any ideas?

I've the same problem, except I installed the english-us-dictionary.

FYI: Removing the adblocker made a huge difference in microb performance. I won't be installing it again even if I can't get spell check to work.

The spellcheck doesn't work for me. It crashes the browser with a segmentation fault. I entered a bug on bugzilla, but nobody seems to have done anything about it. They wanted a crash dump, but I've no clue how to do that.

Still haven't found a solution so I installed sdictionary and downloaded http://sdict.com/en/view.php?file=oxford.dct which is close to 8MB. Not a spell checker but a workable old school solution for checking spelling. Back in the pad and pencil days I carried a small paperback dictionary. At least with the N810 I don't need to carry a briefcase.

Applying the latest Nokia update (Version:*5.2008.43-7) resolved the spellcheck add-on crashing the microb browser. See the maemo bug report: https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3630

If you are still experiencing problems, post the problem on the bugzilla site so it can be tracked.

MicroB just started crashing as soon as it's launched so I've uninstalled the spell checker. Still crashes.

If anyone else has crashes after the OS2008 5.2008.43-7 upgrade, let's get it fixed.

MicroB OK now. No crashes or "Reload" screens.

Other than installing the spell check and a dictionary was there anything else you had to do to get it working. Spell check never crashed my system but also never did anything either.
