iirc jolla had about 20k tablet founders. I may be wrong but I guess lots of people didnt bought it now because they got burn and are waiting to see if this project takes off and start to ship. When shipping starts I guess the sales will boom, that will give confidence to people.

The Lauta was indeed pure beauty, this red color on mate finish, and the curved keyboard edges perfectly going against the rest of the phone. That was a whole other level than every other smartphone I have seen (not that this is the most important, but still, I always have been impressed by the pictures of the Lauta, and of the N950 to a lesser extent).

I do understand that the revival project won't aim t the same look, it's rather a revival of the concept, but it still good news that the chosen reference is that one.

Thanks everyone. The production of Youyota Tablet will start after 15 working days when Michael received the funds from IGG. I will be visiting the factory at some point and update with the latest progress.

Yes of course OTG will be included. It's a standard now.

First thanks for the detailed information. (I was suspecting that you have an almost-ready PCB, in which case even adding contact points would need costly reengineering).

Then that's some good news for would-be hackers/tinkerers.

Last question: does that PCB have extra charging contacts ?
(the kind which are used by the various after-market wireless chargers ? e.g.: "Qi" back covers)

And this is Lauta revival - like N9, the principle is to make the device beautiful, modern*, stylish and with a great choice of OS. It's not meant to be DIY. I also need to make it commercially successful, at least to cover the costs.

*Lauta/N9 had the best rear camera at it's time. So we have implemented modern 2017 dual rear camera system - with dual flash. Probably what Nokia will be doing if they survived today.

Update 2: It's in the future if I have more funds available, I would make this available.
Chen how easy or difficult would it be to make the back cover come off to replace the battery?

Samsung made a phone, a Galaxy not sure which model that had a removable rear cover for easy access to the battery.

Chen I would like to thank you for all of your work on making the tablet a reality.
