I rebooted my n800, and rss feed reader has lost all the feeds I had entered. Is this known behavior? And where does it store this stuff? Looks like /home/user/.osso_rss_feed_reader (based on name), but the directory is fairly bare.

The feeds are stored in this file:

/home/user/.osso_rss_feed_reader/feedlist.opml

If you have a backup, good chances you will find it there too.

I had the same problem! Feed reader was updating the feeds and at the same time my device shutted down (accu empty). After next startup all feeds were gone!

Welcome to the N800! Land of crappy integrated email and rss viewers.

Rider, thanks for the confirmation and sample of .osso_rss_feed_reader contents. (And no, I didn't have a backup.)

N770-Freak, glad (kind of) to know it's a known bug. If your suggestion is right that this is due to a race condition between updates (which are periodic) and shutdown (which is asynchronous), then this is a pretty ridiculous bug to have released with. I would think it happens pretty frequently?

I wrote a couple teensy programs for the n800: doesn't the Hildon framework have a shutdown event that programs can register for? If so, this bug should be straightforward to fix.

Meanwhile, is there a better (more stable) rss reader that people are using on n800?

Thanks,
Kylo

There is a RSS plugin available for Claws Mail, an excellent mail reader IMHO. I couldn't install the plugin to my 770, though. Maybe it works better with n800.
