Somehow I doubt it.
So long as the kernel does, there is nothing in particular that needs to happen in SFOS for it to work.

The problem with MTK chipsets is getting kernels for them (outside of OEM arrangements)

Frankly I wouldn't care if it had a rotary dialler strapped to the back, at this stage I'll just take it as a good sign that [edit: when, I mean] there's a new factory Sailfish phone in the shops...

edit - Anyone know if you can replace the battery?

I'd be skeptical of Alien Dalvik coming to this phone, as so far it hasn't worked on any other non-Jolla phone.

Well, at least Turing has working prototypes with Sailfish OS.
