OK . . . I am excited about the newest firmware update Maemo 5 3.2 . . . . I click upgrade and continue and it tell me to back up my contacts . . . SO I DID THAT???


NOW WHAT????

I return and it tell me the same thing???

No other option than to backup???


I know this is probable something easy but I appropriate your help

Have you tried not to do the backup? It should continue with the update.

Just click on the button below continue . That should work :-)

That is my point their is no other option???

I just got the phone last week I could really care less about the backup - I just want the update???

Then flash it with your data cable....

I am going to say something no linux guy would ever say.
Try to reboot and then connect to the internet.
The system checks for updates automatically. And you'll see a small flashing yellow icon on top.
Click on it and the update manager would show the updates. Just say update all. And let's hope the update button comes up this time.

I hope it works. Else, it's keep you busy for a few minutes :-D

have you installed something from extras-testing or -devel? It seems that you have.

WOW . . . OK . . . rebooted ..... update all . . . and after I sat here praying that it would update the firmware . . . .watching it update everything else . . . it didn't

Yes, I have and I figured this might be a problem . . . I am going to read the wiki link you posted . . .THANKS!
