Still in Perth. Taken using my own program. Bursted 6 photo with 2.5 seconds exposure, then blend them...

The blending happens in the N900?

Hi panjgoori,

i don't know if you have already figured it out - if so, then i'm sorry -, but this is the case: .dng format is raw format. This means, that you have all the details in your picture that the sensor of the camera detected (no post processes taken).
If you have photoshop or ufraw (or any other picture editor which is capable of opening dng format) then you can edit the raw image - you can adjust color, white balance, saturation, exposure, etc. In some cases it is good, because you can make more realistic pictures, or simply edit them in so many ways, so many details. Then all you have to do is to export or save the edited picture as .jpg or tiff, or something that matches your needs. This means, that some details will be lost during the procession, but you will have a jpg file with reasonable file size.

Personally, i prefer FCamera in dng format. FCamera is capable of saving ("making") the picture in .jpg, but i like playing with raw format.
If you are interested, try ufraw first.

Cheers,

jm

thanks for the tips @justmemory.

Here is my latest pic take with N900. Best 5mp camera you can get and even much much better than the 8mb camera of my Xperia SP.
