But before that last measure, could you please lower DSP frequency for 720 and 805 MPU, i.e. something like 500 for n20 and 560-580 for 805?
Default: OPP5, Voltage 39 OH GOD VIDEO PLAYBACK WORKS
DSP Profile with less-overclocked DSP: OPP7, Voltage 50 (720MPU500DSP 805MPU560DSP) IT WORKS!

I just loaded the kernel released today with this profile:
Code:
# kernel-config show
current kernel configuration:
current frequency: 805
supported frequencies: 125 250 500 550 600 720 805 850 900 950 1000 1100 1150
min. frequency: 250
max. frequency: 805
avoid frequencies: 125 550
active frequencies: 250:24,180 500:36,360 600:41,430 720:47,520 805:51,520 850:60,600 900:60,600 950:60,600 1000:60,600 1100:72,600 1150:72,600
SmartReflex VDD1=1, VDD2=1
governor ondemand: ignore nice load= 0, up threshold= 95, sampling rate= 300000, powersave bias= 0
The kernel from 12-31-2011 was very unstable. My phone would just shut completely off instead of rebooting after just 36 hours or so. At idle or while in use. Lets see if the new kernel does any better.

Not good news here with the latest update, just a quick video playback test (avc 800x600, 4Mbps), same behavior, video quits in the beginning/middle while playing back through km player.

P;s: couldn't test the 31/12 build.

I would love to see them even if You manage to find stable SR Efuse for every device in the world There is nothing better, than being able to tweak such things "on fly", without kernel rebuild.

Would you share which profiles result in the above, what voltages SR sets up, does KMPlayer decodes trough MPU or DSP, is there anything in the logs, etc.

@Estel - My goal is to have stable SR in the range 250-600 first. Once achieved (hopefully it is) maybe I will introduce such adjustment trough sysfs. Because for those who have low-end DSP exists a simple solution - moving DSP overclocking to higher MPU clocks. BTW did you try yesterday's build?

Will do tomorrow, as I'm now sitting in train Yet, keep in mind, that I don't have had problems with "stable" kp49 builds (after some tweaking, as You remember, i.e. kicking DSP overclock to higher MPU).

MPU side had been always stable except the initial releases.
Playback through mplayer is stable (mpu decode) on all frequencies.

Earlier results were with default DSP profile from KP-settings.
KM player with DSP decoding- osso server and gstreamer options.

I did a quick test by locking each frequency.

SR_vdd1_voltage are as below (actual voltage is +1 to these values?)

500: 34 550: 36 , 600: 38, on all three frequencies video was played back without a hitch with SD and HD. while HD being not smooth obviously. so Yes, stock frequencies seem to be stable

720: 44 [crashed and turned off itself after payback couple of mins, didn't automatically reboot],

805:48: no success, video quits, but no crashes.

Now with moved DSP frequencies same DSP profile.

720:44:500 : worked
805: 48: 560 : Crapped out/crashed and device turned off after few mins of playback.

Move DSP even further at 805,

805:48:520 : same, crashed !

Now dont call my DSP is low end, OK
It only needs a small bump of voltage by a few noches to be rock stable (eg . 805:50:560 = very stable). so as Estel suggested i would prefer to have an option on calibrating efuse/SR values manually for my device.

I'm having memory corruption problems on the internal MMC partitions of my N900. Do you think it could be caused by kernel-power v49 and/or overclocking (DSP profile, smartreflex etc.) ??
Does anybody else using kernel-power v49 have memory corruption problems (bad blocks according to dmesg)?

I started a separate thread about my problem:
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=81336
has some more information. No spamming intended, would just like to have some feedback from other kernel-power users. Thanks for any help.

@freemangordon: Do you mind to put a short readme file in the kernel profile directory? Maybe summarizing the purpose of the different profiles and some dos and donts when writing your own profile? It's quite hard to filter these information out of this lengthy thread.

Thanks for your great work
