Or an extremely biased reporter that only likes certain phones.

I really don't understand if Jolla won't support Pro¹?

This is _the_ device for Sailfish (even i don't have one....)...

I agree, it is the perfect device for Sailfish.
...if they will support it.

I understand if they are not support it until general availability but I don't understand if they will not support it later especially if there is a working community version for the phone.

For a native system which runs under Linux, the perfect device is the one which also has a keyboard...
It would add some benefit to Sailfish OS If they would recognize this.

I hope the best...

After a little more than one week of intense use, I can confirm it really is the perfect device for the OS, and vice versa.

Coderus, can you add the Github repository and TMO thread for SFOS on the Pro¹ to your TJC thread too?

[Edit] Woops, just realized its a wiki. I added both links, hope you'll find them relevant.

You are right, I also prefer Sailfish and F(x)tec Pro is great.

However missing apps are unfortunately still an issue (or sometimes app features like with signal). Jami, Voip, wireguard, etc. - things someone is used to on android/ios and are required for everyday use often just do not work.

In my opinion - and that's just a biased personal view - it's completely silly having all these smaller (mostly linux based) systems like Phosh, UBPorts, PostmarketOS, Maemo Leste, Sailfish, Nemo, etc. and they do not have ONE ecosystem, meaning their apps are not compatible. This path leads to nowhere.

I completely agree. Looking at how SailfishOS has most apps out there and how their app ecosystem is a typical walled garden, it is the greatest offender for me in this situation. Jolla could:
* switch to QtQuick Controls, keeping their proprietary styling at the style layer

* make Sailfish.Silica simply a compatibility layer

This would be a great benefit to both Sailfish and those other systems.

I was hoping back in the day that Sailfish, Ubuntu, blackberry, Maemo, wizen and I maybe forget one more would all work together or have at least an easy porting ability since they all had QT compatibilities at the time.

But nope! they didn't have the foresight to make it work for one big eco system.

Damn, even Symbian, from S60v2 had QT and python

I just remember how many companies had own internal apps based on QT.
