Has there happened any progress for getting telegram-cli on extras-devel? I just couldn't make it work even got instructions pm'd. I am capable of not getting things to work, like a test for all instructions given. If instructions pass me they should be idiot proof.

I am trying but at the moment it is in some state where it doesn't get imported to the repository. It hangs after the autobuilder.

However I have a deb which is not tested yet with many patches compared to the other one. Compiled in a cssu/openssl1.1 environment. I will link to the source code and the deb.

telegram-cli_1.4.1maemo2_armel.deb
telegram-cli_1.4.1maemo2.tar.gz

Hahhahhahhah! I thought all the tim that this is same kind like telegram app. I thought that pidgin is too complicated for me to use and now it will end. And boy I have seen trouble to get this and reflashed even while trying. Have to try to learn where the photos must be placed cause it didn't send it to my iphone developer friend to whom I took a screenshot. He is mocking me of my N900 ambition all the time.

GUI is the place I use to hang my xterms on.
What else does one need?

CLI=command line interface. Go with Pidgin, it works like charm.

Years ago I used irssi for IRC and had also Pidgin plugin for FB/MSN Messenger in it. Irssi is a great example of a program with good usability but without a gui. Of course it needs you to get used to it, and therefore it may not be as tempting ais some GUI with bright-colored big buttons would be...

Now both packages are in extras-devel.

telegram-cli
telegram-cli-lua

Where telegram-cli-lua has support for lua5.1 and python3.2.

The osso terminal with telegram-cli has problems with scrolling. However chuckis reported a workaround with emacs -nw and M-x shell. He were using GNU emacs 25.1-1. Thanks for this hint until now not tried so far.
