Hello,

I am newbie to n900 and to Linux operating system.

yesterday I have removed boot screen manager from my n900.

But I have one problem regarding this after removing I have restarted n900. and when I go to settings under personalisation section bootscreen manager is getting reflected and after one second it goes off.

Please anyone can tell me how to remove is completely.

Thanks in advance.

In Xterm type
Code:
rm /home/user/.cache/launch/com.nokia.controlpanel.pvr
this will delete the cached Settings app screen image that is painted on the screen when you first open the Settings app.

Re-open the Settings app - The Settings app will then regenerate a new image so when you open it a second time it will show up quickly and with the correct contents for the settings you have.

Close and re-open the Settings app to see the corrected result.

I think some of the file traces are not removed from file system.

Is there any (GUI) file manager with root access so that I hcan further explore it and remove the file traces of bootscreen manager.

Hello JonWW,

Great

It worked.

But can you please tell me that are there any traces left behind when we remove the any application from n900.

suppose if we remove any application from windows desktop machine and when we browse programe files of the installed loaction of th application there we see files which are removed and then we have delete it manually.

Is also the same case with n900 because I dont know that how maemo/Linux os works?

filebox. But root access is not enabled by default. You have to enable it first and restart the application.

The author should have delete the Settings app cached image to tidy things up, but hasn't. Nothing should have been left.
