Hello together!

Today I tried to install Sailfish on my third mobile phone (XA2) and it went wrong.

I followed the tutorial from the first to the last step.

First attempt: With out-of-the-box-cable on USB3-Port: The last step (flashing): Parition 1 was good, partition 2 not. The error message contained: "...too many links".

And when I want to boot the mobile phone, I get the message: "Your device is corrupt. It can't be trusted and will not boot."

Second attempt: With out-of-the-box-cable on USB2-Port: The last step (flashing): FAILED (Write to device failed in SendBuffer() (too many links)) Failed to execute 'fastboot.exe -s CQ30004CDC flash boot_a hybris-boot.img FLASHING FAILED

Can you help me out?

Best regards, Multicopter

Not a Windows user unless can't be avoided, but would it be better to use "cmd" as appears using Windows Power Shell from "fastboot.exe" upon USB 2 port as in this Jolla resource?

Hello aspergerguy,

thanks for your answer. I also like Linux more. :-)

On the first attempt I used "cmd" on the second "power shell".

Best regards,

This is by design, a message from Sony as soon as you have opened the bootlocker.

As a Windows user, I always have to be careful when flashing an SD card with Debian or Ubuntu for a Raspberry Pi or so. The card should be emptied from all previous partitions. You might have the same problem here.

Search for Disk Management - Create and format hard disk partitions, and throw away all partitions on your phone. Then try again.
