I use conky via livewallpaper to display the time on my desktop, and therefore I can see it when I'm in the task switcher. It should be fairly easy to get battery state info the same way.

Same - I would love status bar access everywhere. But at the end of the day either some of us have the skills and add it to hildon, or it won't get done.

Can anyone help me out? I'm pretty sure it should only be a matter of setting some values in or copy/pasting some code from the home screens.
