Are your numbers in the contacts stored in international format which is +<country code><area code><phone number>

So a number in the US is stored as +15551234565

Hi,

thanks for that wonderful app. I use it now on my n900, but was wondering whether I could use it at home on my pc via a n900 emulation?!? As I know there is a n900 emulation with bochs or qemu, so would it be possible to install the emulator and within this emulator install yappari and get a working connection with my real phone nummer on whatsapp?

If you are asking for steps to install the software, then this software is probably way too advanced for you.

If you have read the first post, you would have noticed that it is for experienced users only at this stage.

i installed yappari...but now i want to delete my account...i uninstalled yappari but still my account is not deleted...what do i do???

Scorpius, my yappari currently logs in, retrieves a few messages, and then crashes with a unknown socket error(bottom of main screen). It then continues to sit in disconnected mode, any opening of the application will fail(black empty screen, followed by a return to desktop).

I have removed some personal information and the IMEI code.

This happend over the weekend, at one point friday it was still working. I didnt pay much attention to my phone the next few days because I was having a little LAN party with a few friends.

Nothing strange happend in the mean time short of connecting to my cell providerrs network, and the local WIFI, which I have both done before.

I think something is flagged at whatsapp, for whatever reason, since my status has been changed to dirty and it says invalid MAC(?!). I did not change anything, hardware or software wise lately.

Any help/pointers are appreciated.

Oh, and I initially registered my phone over whatsapp under nitdroid. And before that I attempted to use a Java version, which didnt quite work fully, although one of my friends has stated he did receive the send message, so I suppose it was registered since may 2012.

I also shorted some of the raw information in the messages to not exceed the post length limit.

Hey Scorpius, just a couple of requests when you do the next fix.

1. When we press enter/send when the text is empty, it just sends the message. Please fix this so that a blank enter won't go as an IM.

2. Is it possible to add one more tick to the already two ticks ? I mean one more so that we know that the user have seen the message. This is because sometimes i feel the time which shows as 'Last seen..' probably is not in sync with our time.

The first point is a Qt bug, not a Yappari's bug. Install CSSU to fix it since it provides a newer Qt.

There's no way to implement the second point. The WhatsApp protocol only sends ACKs when the message is received by the server and when the message is received by the user's phone. WhatsApp doesn't indicate when a user sees the message. Last seen time is accurate.

Hi,

Please consider the below functionalities for the newer version -

- Copy/Paste
- When receiving a bigger message, I have to scroll right to view the complete message. The message doesn't get wrapped to the screen.

Hi Scorpius,

I was trying to understand how does the retry mechanism work in yappari.

I noticed some scenarios, I'm sending a message while the network was connected,but the connection was erratic (ie timeout's and sort). The yappari has not detected the disconnection yet. The status is 'logged in'.
The grey tick appears. Now the connection get disconnected,I reconnect it back. But it stays grey and doesn't send it.

It works in case if yappari detects the disconnection. When i connect back,all goes well,it retries and sends it.

It is particularly problematic when sending multimedia,ie pictures.
It takes a bit to send the camera images,if it times out in between,it goes into limbo and stays there.
As i understand there's no retry implemented for multimedia(?)
