List of names on Hermes is only scrollable.
You cannot use the keyboard to type and match a contact. Really annoying, especially for the long phonebooks.

this issue is because of the new T&C FB?

Hi!
I have the same problem as described here.
Hermes starts fine and I am using just the Facebook account for getting the info. the progress bar goes maybe 15-20% and stops for a moment and then error message states "Something went wrong: cannot identify image file"

Can anyone help???
Thank you in advance!!!

For your information: I am running the latest firmware and official version of Hermes (not testing version)

Can you send me the output of running /opt/hermes/bin/hermes in X Terminal; and potentially even try the Hermes in Extras-devel?

Thanks in advance.

just like ezcola, running the latest firmware and hermes from the regular repository, I was having the same problems/getting the same error message yesterday until a few minutes ago. i uninstalled the hermes app and shutdown then reinstalled. opened hermes, did the REFRESH option first then when done tapped on RETRIEVE...no error messages and was able to retrieve new FB friends and matched with phone contacts.

Hi again!

I installed the Hermes 0.2.3 from extras-devel repository and after that the program ran well. Afterwards there seems to be no problems so far... I will post again if any problems occur.
Thanks for the tips!
Keep up the great work!

This is a great tool to sync my facebook friend with my N900 contact.

I do some search and not found the solution for my current problem.
Now my problem is: some of my facebook friend use non-English as his name, ex: Chinese, and it seems Hermes could not fetch all Chinese facebook friend. So I could not update to my N900 contact.

Any idea?

BTW, if I register account to garage.maemo.org, could I snap the Hermes source code? If yes, maybe I could have chance to check this when I'm free...:P

New Feature Request for adding support for Google's Social networking website: orkut.com

Since facebook is really popular in western world with 350 million users, Orkut is google's space in social networking. It has 100 million users, most of them in Brazil and India.

It would be great if n900 users are able to update the contacts with data
retrieved from orkut. Mine is a classical case where 50 of my friends are in
facebook and rest 350 are in orkut.

I have opened a bug/enhancement request in bugzilla:
https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8224

Additional details for this website are:
Few additional information/ comments as suggested by Jaffa:
Social Network Suggested: Orkut.com
1. Generic or Friend Oriented: This is a friend oriented social network.
2. URL : orkut.com
3. Developer API: Found this link with google:
http://code.google.com/intl/en-US/apis/orkut/ I guess the API is based on
opensocial APIs.
4. Fields supported: (not sure about fields supported). The API on the above link is for writing Orkut applications which are shown on web page of Orkut.
5. Identifier: not sure about this.
