Hello to all!

I glad to inform you, that Mnemosyne for Maemo is available from Diablo-extras repository!

Mnemosyne for Maemo is mobile version of Mnemosyne [1] software.
It resembles a traditional flash-card program to help you memorise question/answer pairs, but with an important twist: it uses a sophisticated algorithm to schedule the best time for an item to come up for review. Difficult items that you tend to forget quickly will be scheduled more often, while Mnemosyne won't waste your time on things you remember well.

[1] - http://www.mnemosyne-proj.org/

Mnemosyne for Maemo features:
  • Supporting of all flash-card types.
  • Picture and sound card types.
  • Text-to-speech (using Espeak TTS engine).
  • Card tags.
  • Cards statistics.

Please, report on bugs.maemo.org if you have found any bug.

Br,
Mnemosyne for Maemo team (pomni@googlegroups.com)

Thanks for good words!

The *.db database is not a *.mem database. They have different format.

If you use Mnemosyne2.* unstable version on your Ubuntu, just put you *.db file to .mnemosyne directory on your tablet.
If you use stable Mnemosyne 1.2.* version, please, wait, we are working on converter, and I hope, it will be available in beta9 version. Using this converter you will be able to convert your *.mem database to *.db database and continue studying with n800!

Yes, but with many UI bugs. We are going to adapted current version of 'Mnemosyne for Maemo' for N900 soon.

Mnemosyne v2 is still 2.0-alfa-1

I don't believe 2.0 is available for ubuntu or windows
http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=mnemosyne

So to move from cPickle (or whatever 1.0 used) database to sqlite backend
I need to install bazaar
sign up for an account on Launchpad
apt-get install python-qt4-dev python-sip4 python-sip4-dev pyqt4-dev-tools qt4-designer python-matplotlib python-qt4-phonon
Grab the alpha 2.0-alfa-1
and then convert over?
http://www.mnemosyne-proj.org/hacking.php

No easier way?

Thanks

If you want to use Mnemosyne only on your desktop - this is right way.
But if you have database in cPickle format and want use it in 'Mnemosyne for Maemo', you should wait for beta9 version, which will include this converter.
