Hello there.
I've got a serious problem here, my internal 8GB SDHC has ssuddenly became totally invisible for software. I've already tried various card-readers (simple, camera, NIT) but nothing can see it. Should I buy another one or there is any solution for this?
Thanks.

I didn't find a solution. Mine was a Patriot 8GB. I think it had to do, in my case, while running on battery my unit powering down for low charge with the metalayer-crawler running. After a recharge I had a smoked card that would not be recognized by any device, OS, or low level formatting tool.

I have since disabled the metalayer-crawler and have had no problems using a new 8GB Patriot card.

Code:
sudo gainroot
/etc/init.d/metalayer-crawler0 stop
cd /usr/sbin
mv metalayer-crawler metalayer-crawler.disabled
exit
exit

If it can't be formatted, it's probably dead.

I had a similar experience, and put it in my pocket to mess with later... it inadvertently went through the wash about a week later, and then worked. <shrug /> Not advocating it, but they can recover somehow...
