I think @pichlo means passwords stored in the browser, if that's what is causing problems in logging on to a hotspot that requires some browser magic?

The bruteforce way would be to nuke .mozilla directory
Or maybe rename it to something else, then do the login and after that patch the content by hand?

Correct.

My problem is that do not remember the password. How will wiping the directory help me to recall it?
The login web page does not have a "reset password" option, BTW.

In .mozilla/mozembed/, key4.db and logins.json. It should probably be possible to import those into a Firefox profile on your computer (.mozilla/firefox/blablabl.default/) and look up the passwords you need.

I suggest running

Code:
firefox --ProfileManager
from a terminal and creating a new profile, then importing the above to avoid losing data in your regular profile

@nthn,
Now you mention it, I had looked at logins.json. It contains UN/PW in an encrypted form. Based on what you say keys4.db is the answer. If only I knew how to use it

@mrsellout,
I will have to try it in a VM. I only have a Windoze PC available (and no Firefox, only Pale Moon) at the moment and your command does not work.

just use search operators. I use for search startpage, but of course you also can use duckduckgo or google. So if you want to seach for peterleinchen on talk.maemo, just enter:

Code:
peterleinchen site:talk.maemo.org
in the search field of your search engine. That should be power search enough.
