Anyone know if the new SCUMM build will be packaged soon?

On this site, it looks like they might be wrapping up on the credits, which to me, seems like they're at the very end and a new build could happen any time now.

SymPy on my N810 is a little bit faster than on N900 !

Battery is completely dead ...is it? That is a good question then.
I've used batteries that had little gumption left and just had the target device as a permanently plugged in unit for desk or shop...that way I utilized the nearly dead battery to it's fullest...But an absolutely dead one? hmm... you could find a place that could resuscitate it....give it some more juice...such work usually brings the dead back to life...gives it up to about 95% of your battery back...depends upon what the local shop would charge though. You may be better off buying a used official bp-4l that has a charge...or a legit. compat. battery new ...for the price of resuscitation of your old battery.

It would be great if the n8x0 could be hardwired for direct no-battery-needed power plugging.

As far as that txt goes...I don't seem to have a copy of that....don't know how I missed it...frankly I wouldn't mind a copy either.

it can boot if on powersupply but will reboot in less than minute ... so pretty useless ...

Hmm...I honestly wouldn't bother with battery resus. at this particular time...there are still originals and compats that are much cheaper.
However in the future it may be cost efficient to rejuv. it.

Right now under $10 (including shipping to Canada from the States....price may be more or less depending on specific locations Internationally....so it isn't too bad for a single official batt.) on ebay for a official nokia bp-4l. However you do have to watch for knockoffs. with the official nokia sticker...
So don't go throwing that official Nokia batt away even tho the charge is diminished.
They are still the best thing to use in a n810 and they are starting to get scarce...when the time is right ....get it rejuvenated.
In the meantime I would grab a few official or compat bp-4l batts ... since some sellers offer a deal on multiples . Never hurts to have a few back-up batteries ..ie. one charging while using the other....or esp. for travel. Good thing to have a few.

What a coincidence this thread was revived this week. With the storm of the century facing us last week, I charged any and ALL electronic devices we had in case we lost power... including our old Nokia E71s and the N810.

Sadly, I powered up the N810 and the touch screen no longer works. It's completely unresponsive to any touch at all, though the navigation buttons work. So all I was really able to do was use the navigation buttons and get to the google search widget on the home screen, search for something to launch the default browser, then once in the browser use the navigation buttons to get to a place I can enter a URL. I couldn't even navigate without touch to a list of applications to open.

I loved this device in large part for xournal as I edited a lot of pdfs, hand wrote, and even signed the documents to purchase our current house using it. It's sad that it's now pretty much unusable. When it came out, I bought this while my husband bought this new thing called an iPod touch and we said we'd see which device turned out to be the better one. We both agreed that the Nokia was our favourite.

Reflash it. My guess is that considering as you mentioned that it hasn't been used for a while...it only needs the firmware reflashed. While you are at it...upgrade to the 2011 diablo turbo. A much better experience than the stock 2008 .....diablo turbo comes with a lot of fixes.

Ah sunny... balmy... manitoba! You guys out there had a nasty a while ago. Has the snow gone yet?...
We got dumped on out here ....mind ...it doesn't compare with elsewhere in the country...but for the island it was exceptional.
I used to live in N. Ont. ...30 yrs...I do miss winter activities...tobogganing...skiing..ice fishing...gotta go pretty high up in the mountains here to get that. I used to like walking out the front door with the skis ...Not that I'm complaining about weather on the island..

If you have a scratch guard or screen protector over it,remove it and try again.The touch screen might work.I had similar problems in the past with my long unused n900 because of messy scratch guards/screen protectors
