I have just installed Canola media player on my Nokia N800. I have got around 90 songs on my 2GB SD card. When i do a scan from the applet on the desktop it says "Canola media database refreshed", but when i go into the media player its showing "No items", what am i doing wrong ?

Are they mp3 files, ogg files or m4a files?

I had the same problem on my N800.
Even if Installing canola I had an error message, canola was installed and run.
But it couldn't find any of my audio or video files.
So after a few tries, I disinstalled canola, and disabled all repositories except:
Nokia Catalogue, Nokia Catalogue (3rd party) and the Canola repository:

http://openbossa.indt.org.br/canola/...ory-beta2/bora
distribution: bora
component: user

Then I successfully installed Canola without any error, and now it runs, sees my audio and video files, even after re-enabling the other repositories

Under Extras you have to configure Canola first. Did you? I remember not doing that. I also found that if I did not have a wifi signal connected Canola would not 'see' music. I liked the look of Canola, but these two things about it are stupid.

How does one "disable all repositories except: xxx"? I have the same problem. Canola won't recognize external memory music files. Images are fine, audio doesn't exist. I uninstalled canola, reinstalled it and it was exactly the same.

I don't understand.

Thanks.

Don't know if anyone will reply to this, but I uninstalled canola a couple of times and got the same result. So, I dragged the music files from the 2GB external card to the internal memory "audio clips" and it STILL will not recognize those songs. Even after uninstalling it, refreshing the audio list, etc. It will not work.

Any ideas or explanation of the above fix? The link doesn't work.

Did you reboot after installing Canola?

Do m4a files work with canola? Do I need to convert them to mp3?
