Hi Guys,
I Saw a cool thing on an Android phone the other day where the day and time were displayed in text like "Four:FortyFour" "MondayTwentyFourJanuary" Is there anything like this for Maemo? had a quick look but couldnt find much. I was referred here and it was suggested that QBW may be able to do something like this.

Cheers

Do you mean something like this. I think queen beecon widget would be the way to go. I'm not sure if the clock widgets display worded time.

Yes like that But with the Date as well I currently have a whole desktop spare that I would like to use for this purpose. That 2nd picture is similar to what i saw.

the one I think I saw was a widget called typoclock.

You can use Conky, I donīt use it on my N900 but it should autostart and such(?). Search on the net for configs.

Isnt Conky a performance monitor similar to task manager in windows?

looks cool. clockr. do we have an open source clock widget? that would be the best approach, i think.
problem with conky is it doesn't run as a widget, and this needs to be a widget, or possibly replace the lock screen.

found one written in cairo: http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=739860&postcount=1

(i meant it uses cairo plugins for the clocks, and upon further inspection the code is written in c... and it looks really scary with lots of dbus stuff.... yikes)

I know this isn't what you want, but I think (I may be wrong) that this is the closest thing we have on n900 at the moment. Courtesy of [DarkGUNMAN]. As I said before, what you want may be possible with Queen Beecon, but I don't know enough about qbw to say.
