Hi there,

I just bought a new wifi router modem(D-Link DSL-2740B) for my house, but there is a problem with how the N9 connects to it. It actually connects to it fine, and you can browse the internet at a fast speed for about a minute but then it just stops. It stays connected but can't get any internet connection. I tried pinging google.com and got this(bad address 'google.com'). I tried pinging my router and it stays stuck at PING 192.168.1.1 (192.168.1.1): 56 data bytes. However if i let my phone go into standby mode and then unlock it these lines show:

64 bytes from 192.168.1.1: seq=108 ttl=64 time= 164.276
64 bytes from 192.168.1.1: seq=109 ttl=64 time= 180.725
64 bytes from 192.168.1.1: seq=110 ttl=64 time= 59364.288

and so on.

Each time I let it lock more appear, it does not seam to stop.

My Wifi connection type is this: WPA2-PSK AES

Hope you can help,
Vromoth

You can connect manually by editing the connection, set your own IP and DNS server.
Check your PC IP Address, Subnet Mask and Gateway by typing ipconfig/all in a DOS box. Just follow it except the IP Address, the last digit can put any number between 2-254 as long not the same as your current PC or any other device using.
Example:192.168.1.X
Where X is any number between 2-254 (as long not the same as your current PC or any other device using. )

Manually editing the connection is usually not necessary but you can try it if you are having wifi problems.

I had a similar issue on new router connections and it may or may not be this simple: Once I connected to the router connection, I had to go to the available connections screen, press and hold over the wifi connection you want to connect to, and it will bring up the option to connect automatically, or connect manually. I had to choose connect automatically. It was otherwise always trying to switch between the network provider connection and the wifi and I wouldn't get any throughput. It may not be that simple, but hope it helps.
