It doesn't work with my MacMini from 2008. This could be due to the fact that there are several hardware revisions of the AppleRemote around. Maybe I could make it work by using a different AppeRemote config for lirc on the Ubuntu-MacMini, but I didn't try this yet..

Did you check if Raemote indeed does send the IR signals? I had to reboot my phone to make it running (guess something about LIRC and adding new configs), same as for my Shutter widget.
Now it works well with my brand new project MacBook at work
(What a timing...got the Mac on Monday, Raemote came on Tuesday!)
