I've made a patch to the IT2006 port so that it also works on the N800. Please have a look. It can be downloaded from:

thanks for making this port, it works fine for me.

To install I had to add the original author's repository to pick up a few necessary debs:

Repository: http://www.bgran.net/etrunko/apt
Distribution: mistral
Component: user

and then from the command line:
apt-get install libgnomeprint2.2-0 libgnomeprintui2.2-0 poppler-utils

after that it installed from the application manager

Hi Henry,

Thank you very much for fixing the bug for N800. As soon as I have time I'll publish it somewhere.

Best Regards, Etrunko.

Thanks for this fix. This is the most substantially useful app on my N800, aside from the web browser. You rule!

I've only ever used Jarnal, which had recently added a rudimentary form of HWR added (it works, but don't hold your breath). Does Xournal also have this?

I don't believe it has any form of hwr. Think of it more as a superior version of a post-it note

It does have an export to PDF feature though that seems to sort of work whereas I don't recall it working in the previous version.

I say "sort of" because the transparency of the highlighter is not handled very well in the resulting PDF ... but at least I can get my notes out into a format that I can read on my PC.

It is great that it is working on the N800 now but it seems to need a bit of tuning still. There are periods where it will take a nap while you are writing and take some while to catch up again. It was more responsive on the 770 oddly enough.
