danramos, debernardis... thanks. File Expert is quite nice indeed. Good call on that.

Alternatively, mind you I've never done this though, I think you might be able to use adb to create dd images on the SD card, then transfer them to your PC.
I don't seem to be able to use Clockwork Mod. I tried to use it to reset my faulty battery metre but it does not do anything when I boot into recovery mode. Any option I select the android man cones up but nothing loads up or happens. I don't know if it is because there is no right Tab option for me in Clockwork. The only options are Tab Verizon, AT&T and t-mobile but my Tab is sim free and Non-US anyway. Tried all three and could not get Clockwork to work on my Tab with any. Or am I missing something?

This is incorrect. Stuck would imply that you're stuck. You're not. The n900 runs underneath a powerful GNU/Linux operating system that offers the user a plethora of options to solve their file storage issues. If your having such problems, there's no need to feel stuck like the previous poster, please use the search features of this site to find the answer that is right for you. For one such example, I encourage you to click on the link in my signature to learn how you too could have the entire n900 SDK on your device.

Thank you and have a nice day.
Well, this is completely different from what I thought you meant. I thought you were saying he was Wrong because in Android also you are stuck as described.

Funny, but laconic one-word comments can misfire.

No kidding! I was always annoyed at Astro's cripple-ware mentality to do the simplest damned thing in the world--FILE MANAGEMENT. File Expert takes that several steps further and also replaces the need for ROOT EXPLORER (since it can also mount/unmount partitions) and even adds functionality to other apps through its locally hosted file streaming service for files hosted on SMB services. Incredibly cool--and NOT crippled free software donationware. I highly recommend spreading the word on that one.

You weren't faulted for your lack of loquaciousness so much as your lack or elaboration and specificity.

In as much as you would need to root or any other operations to get "unstuck" in an Android device, some people would see that as being "stuck" until you fly through loops and learn something new because it's not something the system is already set up to support. But thanks for eventually clarifying that.

Good day to you!

Interesting! I can only speak as an owner of a Verizon Galaxy Tab as far as my own experience goes. Which model is your Galaxy Tab? Maybe I can go snoop around a bit about this. (From the desktop, press MENU, SETTINGS, ABOUT DEVICE, and look up the MODEL NUMBER). Is this a wifi-only Tab?

Seems like there's been a lot innovation/development for Android this fortnight but we've been blinded by the N9's shoulda/woulda (or maybe we miss CC too much!)

Firstly a Live Wallpaper which makes everything float like in space. Pretty neat!
http://www.xda-developers.com/androi...r-home-screen/

And a game which I'm sort of addicted to: http://www.xda-developers.com/androi...d-for-android/

The ability to now shoot panorama photo's http://www.xda-developers.com/androi...n-sony-phones/

A new benchmarking app from ChainFire, they say is a better representation of a device's performance: http://www.xda-developers.com/androi...droid-devices/

We also have someone from xda-developers who has modified the launcher from the Galaxy phones to present you with Touchwizz 4.0 He adds many features and makes it faster than Samsung's execution and its able to be used on most Android devices!
Now everyone brags about how it is an iPhone copy, but I think its truly intuitive so I don't care if it looks like iCopy and I do prefer it to HTC's Sense which is weirdly-laid out. http://www.xda-developers.com/androi...droid-devices/

Next a very cool, and dear i say it necessary Launcher: The Honeycomb launcher. It's the best immitator I've seen yet, feature-full, and promise of other better additions in the future. I have a feeling some members from here will definitely give it a try on their Samsung Galaxy Tabs (let me know how it runs): http://www.xda-developers.com/androi...launcher-beta/

The kernel source for the ASUS Transformer is available, which means better kernel = better custom OS http://www.xda-developers.com/androi...r-transformer/
The headphone issue has just been resolved http://www.xda-developers.com/androi...s-transformer/

CM7 is now supported for the Motorola Droid2/Droid2WE/Milestone2. Its a great device, but its locked bootloader meant too many hassles to get custom firmware, perhaps Motorola will learn?http://www.xda-developers.com/androi...oid-2-support/

The Atrix is looking more and more like a possible upgrade for those tinkeres with the addition of 5-finger-multitouch: http://www.xda-developers.com/androi...ized-try-this/
A fix for those who have wifi issues (no thanks to Moto)http://www.xda-developers.com/androi...ome-countries/
And a (rumoured) promise of unlocking the bootloader at the expense of your warranty (totally worth it): http://www.xda-developers.com/androi...future-update/

The HTC HD2, the phone that refuses to die now lives on with a new custom OS based on Sense 3.0 and so far most things work! http://www.xda-developers.com/androi...g-720p-camera/

And for those who bought the Samsung Wave, its basically a Galaxy S i9000 with a better build quality, smaller 3.3" screen and Samsung's "Bada OS". It costed half the price of a regular i9000 which made it a smart buy, but everyone was hoping for a port of Android.
Seems like its being served cold/late, better than never I guess:

Just an FYI for those of us with the Samsung Galaxy Tab--it already does this. I've taken a bunch of panaramic pictures using my Tab. Apparently, it supports horizontal as well as vertical panoramic (you can move side to side, or up and down for vertical panoramic images... like the time I took a picture of the tallest tower in Hartford, CT, the Cityplace Building). You can get it by going into the Tab's camera app, tap the "screen" icon (top-left side of the screen) and you'll find several modes: Single shot (default), Continuous (takes pictures for as long as you hold the snap button icon), Panaroma (WHOO!), Smile shot (yup--snaps the picture when it detects a smile on the subject), and Self-shot (uses the front-facing camera).

Thanks Dan.

I didn't know because I don't have a SGTab, but I'm considering one.
I missed out on the Telstra $299 web-special, and I'm currently divided because I want an ASUS Transformer or a compromise in the middle (like the new SGTab 8.9").

You know why, like I told you, I will put the amplifier under the front-passenger-seat and hook it up to the device which will become the centre-console (not dash) and double up as the GPS receiver. And possibly make a good mobile companion (to my i9000/N900) or home entertainment (competing with my PS3).

Here's a picture of my '01 Corolla, it has the best spot for the tablet/gps/music/videos. The inner area where the current stereo and the empty pocket will fit a 7" tablet perfectly.
To fit in a 8.9" Tab, I'd have to cut into the borders of the outer-plastic, ie a whole lotta cutting, should I?

You post a "should I?"-question on a forum that thrives on there-I-fixed-it / warranties-are-for-pu$$ies -approach on life. So, goes without saying, hells to the yes you should cut, chop and mold to fit a square peg in a round hole.

Do it.

Naw, I think the 7-inch tablet format factor is PERFECT--especially if you grab yourself the car dock and rip it apart to fit it into that cavity so that you can easily pop off the Tab (like a stereo face plate would) and then take it with you wherever you go--at least it'll also fit in your pockets.

You're clearly not really part of this crowd if you think that's the way I'd do it. You didn't even ONCE mention 'duct tape'. I would absolutely DUCT TAPE that car mount and splice the Samsung charger (2 amp for full rapid charge) USB port to the console so you can use it to charge the Tab with the wire you'll have dangling out of a corner of the car mount, or plug in your other USB devices to charge. DUCT TAPE! LEARN IT! Also, seriously? There I fixed it? We're talking AUTOMOBILE augmentation here! http://www.thatwillbuffout.com
