It was answered *plentora* of times, so instead of writing, go and read it again. It's only 80 pages, with at least 5% of them made from Your unnecessary repeating questions. Take Your time.

BTW as you may probably saw, I wrote a code for bitrate calculation based on video resolution, framerate and quality, but left it commented, as there is no UI to control it and I am not much into GTK to implement one.

OK my update on this. Since my previous attempt broke video recording and playback, and also I had made other nasty things and lost the ability to connect to wifi APs, I decided to reflash everything to return my N900 to 'just bought' state.

So I reflashed eMMC and rootfs, and then installed root, kernel-power and its utilities, and wget.

And then followed the instructions provided and this time I got it!!

I'm now able to record in 720p.

So I'd like to mess now with bitrates, but I don't know (because I have no idea of it) where to change things to set it.

Any hint about this? Or does it require to compile things?

Thanks and kudos to freemangordon.

I reply myself with my last updates on this:

It doesn't work on my phone. I know that in my previous post I said it did, but now it doesn't, and i did not changed a thing. I set up my tv screen to make different test at different resolutions, and when I started to record, the screen went black only when recording.

But not went black as being off, but as nothing comes from the sensor.

I rebooted my phone, and the same. So, if after a complete reflashing it doesn't work, I'll start to asume that it's my phone fault.

Now it's time to focus in other things.

Anyway, my compliments to all people that achieved this and freemangordon for the work on it.

Sorry, but I'm afraid I didn't explain myself enough.

With I set up my tv screen I was meaning that I prepared my tv screen with a bluray movie that I would play while shooting with my N900 in every resolution available, so I would upload it and then have others to check them as test clips.

I had prepared the Disney Castle intro that is shown in Lion King Bluray.

Well, resolutions like 1024x576 (and even higher) should work.

@tokafondo: Just raise your voltages a bit, seems DSP runs too much undervolted.

For me that resolution does not work either. But I can't tell for sure if that is a limitation of the TV, it's an old Pal widescreen CRT.
